Our Observing the Observant Photo Walking Experience’s are designed for photographers and others interested in the orthodox Jewish community who may feel uncomfortable entering their world
Our own personal photos walks, Observing the Observant and other photo walking experience’s to come, come out of our love for catching those candid moments beyond the usual
Mo Gelber grew up and still lives in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, an observant hasidic Jewish community. When Mo is not photographing the streets of New York City he is a professional event & wedding photographer – but his true passion is catching candid moments of people as he did in photo of “Last Kiss” that went viral too
Geo Geller is a filmmaker/photographer and has been called an “obsessive documentarian” – he grew up on the streets of New York and for last 8 years he has been working on a documentary “Observing the Observant” the good the bad the beautiful and the ugly – His early memories are of growing up in Boro Park, Brooklyn and he is still growing up – He says, “he makes documentaries for people who aren’t born yet! and takes photos for his own joy of catching those moments beyond the usual”
PRICING
$75 per person (base price), not including transportation, meals etc, we offer approximately a three hour memorable Photo Walking Experience of from 6 to 8 people maximum, into one of the three Observant, Ultra Orthodox Jewish communities of Crown Heights, Williamsburg, Boro Park, Brooklyn
We suggest wearing comfortable shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather and dress modestly out of respect for the community to have the best experience and any photo gear you are willing to carry is acceptable
